Alert and Benchmarking

Alert Management Systems is pleased to announce a new partnership with Rouse Analytics™. Since 2011, Rouse Analytics has been working with participants such as United Rentals, Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation, H&E Equipment Services, NES Rentals, and Neff Corp. Adding regional rental companies since then, Rouse Analytics’ robust benchmarking system currently tracks $43 billion of equipment on a nightly basis, and $18 billion in annual rental transaction volume.

What does that mean for Alert users?  With a subscription to Rouse Analytics, a participating rental store can view rental analytics from their region. Data such as rental rates, physical utilization, dollar utilization, fleet age, and other key performance metrics are included.  Participating rental stores will submit their data on an invoice level, directly and automatically from Alert rental management software, which will be combined with the same level of data from other participating rental stores in the market.

Why are equipment rental stores interested in this rental software? For aid in decision making.  Aggregated data for the region will inform participating Alert EasyPro users comparative details on their fleet. Will lowering your prices increase your volume of rental?  If you raise your rates, will you still be in line with the market?  Should you consider replacing some of your fleet with newer inventory to protect your outstanding reputation in your region?

Rouse Analytics uses the ARA Rental Market Metrics™ for benchmarking. Every class of equipment will be monitored with the same class of equipment in other rental operations, ensuring that every measurement is comparable with the local market, and the industry as a whole. In the current business environment of mergers and acquisitions, there is no better way to prove the value of your operations than by comparing to national and market benchmarks.

The integration of Alert to Rouse Analytics came about as a product of Alert’s annual user conference – the Alert Users Group Conference (formerly the International Alert User Association).  Alert users meet to discuss ideas for driving their rental management software forward, and for the past 43 years Alert Management Systems is pleased that nearly all items voted on by users have been built into Alert.
