Support Technician

Alert Rental, a Colorado Springs-based rental software company, is looking to fill both full & part time positions for our help desk. Alert creates proprietary software for the rental industry, so all new hires have to learn a call tracking and a unique software application. Training is provided. Hours can be flexible. There is opportunity for advancement if you find that Alert is the right company for you!
The triage support technician position is the first impression of our company for our clients, and therefore is a critical part of our corporate team. We need people with good phone skills, some understanding of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc.), a good work ethic and a positive attitude.
Role & Responsibilities
Daily Tasks:
- Answer & Log Incoming Support Calls
- Answer & Log Incoming Support Emails
- Provide Technical Support on Level 1 Support Questions
- Triage (reassign) calls to the appropriate staff person based on skills

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in MS Applications: Outlook, Excel, etc.
HS diploma or equivalent
Customer Service or Help Desk, Software, IT or Network experience a plus
Linux Experience a plus+
This position starts at $15/hour with increases based on mutually-agreed upon performance targets.

Job Responsibilities:
- Working the sales process to completion: includes following up on leads, product demonstration, proposal generation, and closing the sale.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings, and other meetings as required
- Travel, exhibit, and demonstrate Alert at trade shows as necessary; local, regional, and national trade shows are routine.
- Keep management informed of progress by using customer relationship management tools
- Provide feedback from current and new clients on software application enhancements

Software Developer I

Position Overview
The Developer I position would be an addition to an existing 3 person team and reports to our Programming Manager. Our software is written in Cyberscience, a 4th GL language, and for that reason, training on Cyberscreen & Cyberquery is provided.
Your primary role would be to be a productive part of a team developing changes to the premier rental software in the industry by designing, coding and testing changes to the existing Alert software package. Additionally, the Development team acts as support to the Client Care & Sales teams, as required.
We are looking for positive individuals that are passionate about designing an outstanding product, and who are detail-oriented, self-starters and proven communicators. To be effective, you must be able to coordinate and collaborate with our clients and their employees at all levels, and with all company departments.
Specific Responsibilities :
• Design, code & test Alert’s software programs and applications.
• Integrate with 3rd party software & hardware.
• Research, design, document and modify software specifications throughout the production lifecycle.
• Trouble-shoot, analyze and correct software errors in a timely fashion.
• Provide assistance to the Installation, Support & Sales teams, as requested.
• Work with the development team to resolve complex problems for our clients via modifications to our proprietary rental software and/or other technology solutions.
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of our rental software including reports/reporting tool, thus becoming a subject matter expert on our software.
• Documentation creation.
• Project Billing.
• Log supplementary support calls in the Zoho Desk Call Tracking System, per department policy.
Experience :
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline
• 1 year of programming experience
• Experience estimating and managing project timelines
• Additional experience that would be a +: XML, Java & JSON; relational database experience, Informix, Linux

Software Implementation Specialist

Alert, a Colorado Springs based software company that creates proprietary software for the rental industry is adding a Software Implementation Specialist to our installation team.
Alert offers flexibility in workspace & schedule for this salaried/full-time position. We have clients all over North America and the Caribbean and travel is an integral part of this position. Our staff is 100% remote (work from home).
Position Overview :
The Software Implementer’s primary role is to serve as the lead project planner for new client installations. The Software
Implementer is usually the first person our clients create a personal relationship with, and through which they get to know our company culture. The role is responsible for organizing and leading the project plan through the entire implementation timeline, with the goal to deliver an on time and 100% accurate Go Live experience. Additionally, the Software Implementer will install and configure the Alert software, work on data conversion, train new and existing clients, install and train on add-on modules and 3rd party bolt-on products, assist with documentation/video creation and do server switches, among other things.
You will be a great fit if you are familiar with Alert’s software, have prior experience in the rental industry and project management, accounting knowledge and/or training expertise. Primary Objectives :
• Create the implementation plans in Zoom Projects for each project.
• Manage all stages of the implementation directly with the responsible department.
• Ensure all implementations meet the defined Go Live date.
• Manage the scope of services for each client, consulting towards best practices.
• Track any outstanding implementation requirements after the Go Live until fully resolved.
• Provide a high-level of technical guidance for clients and internal staff.
• Provide best-in-class customer service and resolution to client requests.
• Develop expertise and knowledge of all Alert modules and other integrated 3rd party bolt-on software modules that are offered.
Specific Responsibilities :
• Lead the client kickoff meeting, reviewing the project plan with Sales.
• Assist internal departments in setting client expectations.
• Identify red-flags and/or gaps and lead internal staff to address and define the optimal business solutions for the implementation.
• Create and maintain the Implementation Project Plan in Zoho Projects to ensure we are on schedule for planned Go Live.
• Work with the team to resolve complex problems using our proprietary rental software and/or other technology solutions.
• Work with client to ensure the completion of data spreadsheets for conversion, testing, and import.
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of our rental software including reports/reporting tool, thus becoming a subject matter expert on our software.
• Training for clients and internal staff.
• Documentation/video creation.
• Project Billing.
• Log supplementary support calls in the Zoho Desk Call Tracking System, per department policy.
Experience :
• Solid technical background with hands-on experience in project management, software implementation, corporate training, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word and Excel, Power Point
• Experience using Zoom.
• Additional experience that would be a +: technical writing, content development, IT or networking, Linux knowledge, accounting and, technical Help Desk experience
